Has anyone had any issues getting through Canada and more importantly back into the USA with a large 22' trailer hauling off road vehicles.

My understanding is that individual cars are no big deal but if you have a truck and trailer do you get the "special treatment", please pull aside sir 3rd degree?

Make a list of what you have in the trailer and which order it's in. Keep your proof of ownership handy and you shouldn't have any problems. Surprised you don't know this already.

As on the TV show "Border Securty" add nauseum, the main thing Customs is concerned about is guns, drugs, guns, contraband, guns, and did I mention guns??

Some of the people showing up with cargo loads of mounted trophies is a dead giveaway.

You booze is limited just as you are expect ot prove ownership of what you have, and verification of your destination.
Just as in crossing any border, don't assume and don't get your advice from here.

The regs. are pretty clear and there are phone numbers to call for clarity.

Already got the right advice but you can almost count on a good quiz and a thorough look in the trailer.

I had a 24' box truck with a detailed manifest, every box numbered with contents., I was delayed 4 hours and they spot checked a few things and let a dog loose inside.

If you have ammo, a gun or a hint of drugs like marijuana you will probably get busted.

IF you carry guns, make sure you get a "receipt" from US customs on the way into Canada. I almost got my guns confiscated at the us border in Montana as I couldn't prove I had them before entering Canada, the border officers will give you a receipt and they don't record them so it's not a registration.

I drove up 2 years ago pulling a 16 ft camper/enclosed trailer....had a manifest with things (loosely) listed. We weren't checked in depth, coming or going. Maybe I have a trusted face
