Everts, Lynden, and Northern Air Cargo fly out here. If you have a YKHC ID, you get a discount on Lynden Air Cargo.

They're finishing up on a new housing unit, but they do have various sized rentals across town.

On Alaska Air, if you plan ahead a month or so, you can get away with a $93 one way ticket up to $208 on first class seats.
Thanks, Warpman. Just heard about hospital housing. He got a 5 month lease from Brian Glasheen so he can get something should it become available.
Great news about amazon, even if it takes longer. No big deal.
Figured I’d try to sell his SUV. Silly to pay tons of money to ship it. I actually might buy it from him if he refinances to a cheaper monthly loan amount. I think we might have record snowfalls in upstate NY this year so it would be good for me.
He is taking a 2 bedroom for 1750 (plus 6% tax wtf!? Lol) it would be good if they could throw him a roommate- another contract guy to split the expenses. But he’s only got to pay that for 5 months and it gives him time to find something cheaper at the new hospital housing site.

Thanks for all the info! Very helpful.

Actually, if anyone thought I was “chewing anyone a new one” they are not terribly perceptive. I stand by what I say and how I say it. Ridiculously petty bull**** doesn’t sit well with me. Challenging someone’s reasons by saying they don’t have the right attitude in response to my questions is pretty damn ignorant. And I’ve observed those specific individuals over time here. They’re the ones with a negative perspective looking for any opportunity to bully and/or judge with absolutely no knowledge of the given person’s motives. So chill out and don’t worry about me or him running into someone who read this. I am articulate, and have no problem calling out ignorance. So on that note, hope I DO meet some of you one day. And others, not so much.

“Who’s packin’ and who’s not”. PERFECT example of someone trying to be tough and relevant using idiotic language thinkin’ “they bad”.
“Packin’”. REALLY . Grow the ef up. OR on the flip side, someone might nail you for threatening language. But I sense you just might be trying to hard to make a point, with not so full an arsenal of actual words. And yes, I absolutely stand by that statement. I’m quite sure I said I’m from Brooklyn, did I not? So when someone asks questions, if you do not have an answer, why must you jump in all attention seeking? Not just you. You’re pretty harmless. But there are a couple that are truly despicable. Dare I say, good thing I didn’t as about renting with CATS. That certainly triggered a regular here to jump into someone’s **** who was just asking a question. Just sheer unadulterated negativity. Tried it with me. Not cat-related. But so clearly over the top negative-attention seeking. Mean as f., that one. Likes to stir stuff up and upset folks seeking info here. I don’t suffer bullies well.
I’m just sorry no one put him in his place before. It should not be tolerated here.

Consider for a moment that some of your questions were - and I mean this literally, not necessarily pejoratively - ignorant. You are ignorant about life in this part of the world. If you think calling out ignorance is a positive trait, why are you getting so snappy about people correcting your mistakes or pointing out your problematic assumptions, eh?

Leaving the car. I’m buying it from him. Just didn’t pay to ship it over to bethel, even if he waited to barge it. He’s got an apartment not far from his job so he’ll try to get a car there. Everyone he’s been asking there for info have been very helpful.

Tf?

So are you bringing a cat to Bethel?

There's a bunch of cats living across from Warptman. You might be able to get one of those instead of bringing your own.

Well how dare you decide if one’s assumptions are ignorant? Especially-and this is the fun but- when I never made assumptions. The entire content of my post was asking questions. I assumed nothing. Is this going back and forth fun for you? I think so, hence I won’t bother entertaining you with it. Re-read my post and if you want a healthy discourse, point out to me SPECIFICALLY what were my ignorant assumptions. I’d welcome that! And remember-be specific.

And let me point out that questions really can’t be “ignorant”. One can be uninformed. And the remedy is asking questions. Isn’t that the point? I have no knowledge about life on Mars. So, being from a beachy state I might ask, “so how are the beaches?” So basically you are ridiculing someone for WANTING to find out about a place. Pretty shameful. I’ve seen that same sarcasm and judgement quite a lot here. Same few people. And again, it shouldnt be tolerated when the very nature of getting on to ask questions here is to learn about a location so one can determine if it is a right fit . Ugh “problematic assumptions “. Assumptions are only problematic if you act on them. It’s completely out of context in light of one asking questions. It’s irritating to watch you and your cohorts lie in wait to knock someone. You appear to enjoy perpetuating the idea that you are somehow special for enduring the lifestyle in bethel. So many others are welcoming. It’s a shame that your word games ie., twisting everything one says into a philosophical semantic debate. “Problematic assumptions “. Give me 3 examples.......let’s do this.

Yeah, no. I don't think I'm going to continue engaging with you, because I don't suppose that providing more fuel for your rants is helpful to your son. You've said more than enough to make him personally identifiable when he gets up to Bethel, and I don't think your posts reflect well on him. So if he's not like this, it's not doing him any favors to continue helping you dig this hole deeper.
