Anybody know anything about the Alaska Commercial Co. How are they to work for? What sort of company housing do they provide? Anything at all would help.

Hi, there used to be an AC store in McGrath where we lived. I didn't work for them, but had friends who did, and we shopped there. They got housing provided by the AC company while they were there, and before that, they were someplace else in AK working for the AC too. I think they have moved on and someone else now manages the store. McGrath has a community message board. You can go to this link and click on the left-hand side icon that says Message Board. You can post something there and maybe someone will have more info for ya. Hope this helps!

I worked for the Alaska Commercial Co. in Barrow. Just part-time in sporting goods. I didn't live in company housing but did go over there a couple of times. It was nice. But that was 24 years ago. Can't tell you what it's like now. It was a fairly good company to work for back then.

AC is our "big" store here in Cordova. Don't have a clue what they are like to work for but I think it's great that you can buy milk, eggs, coffee, shotgun shells, a couch, and boots at the same store. (And its not like a super-anything, its just a small regular grocery store)

AC in Bethel only provides housing for the managers. Some of the houses are very nice and they even have a few duplexes there.
