This link is not to start arguing about crime statistics in Alaska, nor anything relating to demographics and crime, but to pass the news along the way in case some haven't read it already.

I for one am thrilled. I'm a woman who works in the Native villages at least three months a year, and I have seen the problems caused by the lack of law enforcement in those remote areas. More police is desperately needed, especially in the rougher villages like Tuluksak and Akiak.

I was wondering why US AG would come to Alaska and found someone else actually asked him that question.

Answer leaves a bit to the imagination though.

"Someone asked me, 'Why are you here? Why did you pick Alaska?' And it's because, to me, my job is to go where the need is greatest, and I think the need is greatest here," Barr told CBS News' Jan Crawford in an interview earlier this month.

As long that it is to the benefit of the people in the places he visited, all is good, even if what he said is not perfect.
