I just got a brand new one with some kind of urban camo coloring. Need a sling, rem oil, and a cleaning kit before I go out firing it this weekend. Going to use 2 3/4" slugs for bear protection when I go out mountain climbing. If you want I'll drink a couple cans of red bull and dress up like rambo in my old air force bdu's and video tape it for you.

Has a 870, too. I love my Beretta A390 gas auto, sweet shotgun!

Got a Mossberg 500 pump gun that comes with a pistol grip, stock, a long choked barrel, and a short smooth barrel (18-1/2"). Have it set with the stock and the short barrel, and loaded with 2-3/4" slugs.

The 870 is a most excellent shotgun. I bought mine over 35 years ago.

Mossberg 500's action seems to loose or something. I like the 870 better. Seems like a more solid pump. Then again, I like AR-15's because they feel so good in my hands and they're kinda pretty.

Got a mossberg 500 18 inch barrel loaded with six 600 grain bernaeke slugs. But I'd trade it for an 870.

I was reading about those 600gr Brenneke slugs last night. Anyone shot them? I would imagine they pack a heck of a recoil.

They don't have that much of a kick, maybe 10 to 15 pounds of felt recoil. You don't even need a Past pad. In a rifled barrel they are very accurate within 100 yards. They are big enough that you can actually see them (as an observer) flying down range.
