One of four crew members on a Seattle-based fishing boat died Tuesday when the vessel sank in the Gulf of Alaska
Crewman dies after vessel sinks in Gulf of Alaska; three saved: Commerical Fishing | adn.com

Under Obama's spending proposal, all the nation's military services will see a budget increase -- except the USCG -- which will see a decline.

The number of critical roles the USCG is responsible for are to numerous to mention. Critical roles right here in our country. Yet, they always get the budget shaft.

That is a sad story, anytime a vessel is in distress is upsetting.

The CG is always at the short end of funding, they are kinda treated like the bastard child, but do the most for what they have to work with!

Nasty stuff, but at least I now understand where you're coming from. You think I'm a Republican bashing Obama. WRONG.

I never said the links you posted weren't FACTUAL. I only said they were OLDER articles. Learn to read for meaning.

There's plenty more articles on the internet to support what I said. I'm sure you know how to use Google.

Warrant Out for Deadliest Catch Dude

A Seattle judge has issued a bench warrant for the arrest of Jake Harris, the youngest son of the late reality-TV skipper Phil Harris, after no-showing this morning for a preliminary hearing in his reckless driving case.

Not wanting to get in the middle of a fight but just want to say having spent 18 summers as the crew on various Alaskan fishing boats often heard of others in situations beyond their control. Tough deal to be on a crew just obeying orders and get caught in a bad situation. Only had to call Mayday once...in the middle of Cook Inlet my very first summer on a boat...I was 19.
