The College Inn closed in ,I believe the late '60s or 1970.There was a small fire at one time and it was eventually tore down.Gerard King was the manager or owner.I think he has passed.Riley's Lake House, which was a ways out behind it has also been tore down and an upscale housing development built.I think that Bill Parcells has a house there.I never went there because I was in the Marine Corps but I knew people who went there.
Went to the college inn many times as I rode with one of The Sundowers who played in the room on the left. I thought the owner was Joe King, I remember his daughter Marykate. I was saddened when I heard about the fire back then. Wasn't The Rafters down the same road? It was off exit 14 of the Northway
The band I was in, The Misfits performed at the College Inn many times. We were a local rock band from the Ballston Spa-Burnt Hills area. The years from 1965-1968 and I also played in a couple other bands that performed there 1969-1970. The Misfits played both the main stage big room and many times in the Date Room. We often played alongside the Sundowners on the bill. Joe & Gerard King were the owners. The memories are so very cherished !
