ABQ might be getting a Steak N Shake. Don't know if a firm contract has been signed by franchisee or not. Don't know where, just know that it's in the preliminary site review stage, and possible building designs are being discussed.

I think Freddy's ice cream (custard is better) but Steak N Shake has Freddy's burgers beat by a mile. Hope it pans out!

I seem to recall going to one once in Iowa and it was pretty awful, but I might have it confused with a different awful fast food chain. Did they have the ground up powdery crap slapped between two buns and mistakenly called food?

No. It's beef, like Freddy's uses, but better, I think. It's big in the south and southeast.

Well, we have Freddy's here now. And it's convenient to me (now)... I don't know if I've even been to a Steak N Shake. The name sounds familiar. When it's done, I'll try it out.

Closest one is in Lubbock and I've considered going...long way for a 'steakburger' but I miss them from back east. Freddy's doesn't do anything for me.

I know preliminary site plans are in the works, but I don't know where in town. The way it was presented to me was a 'what if', but someone is paying the architect so I don't think it's a total fishing expedition by S&S.

When I drove to CA in September I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw a Steak N Shake in Victorville, CA! Looks like the chain is very focused on expansion!
