Will be in ABQ for a night (been there before) and am wondering what's the best area to stay in. I've always stayed close to the airport/University. Uptown? Downtown?

Also, can anyone suggest the best place to get New Mexican cuisine? I'm from San Diego and know Mexican food, but I want New Mexican. A hole in the wall is fine by me.

Look forward to your responses.

Welcome! And try this thread: What's the best New Mexican cuisine I can get in ABQ?

Hotels?
We get business visitors, they usually stay near the Airport, and there are a few newer hotels in that area.

Some old-timers still like the Sheraton Albuquerque Uptown at 2600 Louisiana Blvd NE, Albuquerque

Thanks for the link regarding New Mexican cuisine. Doesn't look like a shortage of places to choose from!

And funny you mentioned the Sheraton Uptown, because that is where I'm currently booked.

I was going to suggest Sheraton Uptown also. I have a acquaintance coming in for some golf on Tuesday and he will be staying there also.

If you're here this weekend, stay downtown. The NM centennial celebration is happening on Saturday with tons of music and food.
