I recently spent a day out at El Malpais and it had a very beneficial effect -- tranquil but also energizing. Just getting away is good. Sometimes you don't realize you are carrying a heavy burden until it is gone.

I also like the Quarai Mission ruins in Salinas Pueblo Missions National Monument over near Mountainair but that's a long way to go.

I forgot this one, drive out of ABQ heading east during sunrise. There was a moment so eerily beautiful like nothing I have ever seen in my life, it was such a lovely parting gift. I shoulda turned back around...
