August has an average of 1.5 inches of rain. That's pretty light as compared to 1 average summer day in Florida.
How bad is the rain storms? Do you get windstorms? I see the high temps can be in the 90's but I'm sure since it's dry it's pretty nice.
Wind is an area of discussion... ABQ Wind, Windy Weather in ABQ, Wind in ABQ

And rain: Rain!!!!

It can occasionally be both hot and humid in the summer, but it does tend to not last for that long.

Central Florida records about 16 days with rainfall in August (to Albuquerque's 8) with an average total of 7 inches for the month (to Albuquerque's 1.5).

When rain comes, it is often a downpour, but for 15 minutes or a half an hour rather than hours or all day. In non-summer months we get softer rains that last longer, but the summer monsoon brings heavy rain measured in minutes.

Expect Albuquerque to seem like the desert it is in comparison.
