My grandson is considering moving downtown and is thinking about the studios across from the Wells Fargo building on the corner of Lomas NE and 2nd NE.

The complex is named "Downtown @ 700-2nd Apartments" (because it's located at 700 2nd NE).

I've googled it and found nothing derogatory. It does have a coffee shop (or did?) run by St Martins, which is a service for the homeless, but the rentals appear to be for the general public.

Does anyone have any info on the building and the pros or cons?

Thanks

I'm sure the building itself is fine. The neighborhood would give me pause. There's a methadone clinic a couple blocks away, a healthcare for the homeless nearby, and the first street/railroad tracks corridor tends to be the main thoroughfare for the area's down-and-out.

In the opposite direction, all three courthouses and their corresponding jails. Need bail, or need a chance to get well, after being locked in a cage for goodness-knows-how-long? This building's right on that path.

I'd expect to see some aggressive begging and the occasional person acting antisocially to passersby.

99% of the city's homeless don't want or cause any trouble, but that remaining 1% is pretty bad. One'd encounter 100 homeless very quickly living in this building.
