To answer your question: as far as quality of schools goes... coin-toss between RRHS and Eldorado. Cleveland is still struggling with 1st year opening issues.
However, the areas/neighborhoods around Eldorado offer more in the way of shopping, entertainment, etc. When it comes to offering options of "stuff to do" for a 15 year old, depending on the child, that could be a good or bad thing.
I'd send them to whichever was closest but I'd avoid any school that taught creationism. Just my thang. I also have friends who graduated from El Dorado and had a pleasant experience so I'd be biased towards that school.
None of them teach Creationism. But there have been attempts...
The New Mexico Board of Education voted about 10 years ago to limit the statewide science curriculum to the teaching of evolution. Which eliminates teaching Creationism.
No, they did not teach Creationism in the Rio Rancho schools, an attempt was made to teach it. Board members Marty Scharfglass and Don Schlichte were attempting to teach Creationism under another name.
Marty Scharfglass and Don Schlichte are still board members. Don Schlichte was re-elected in the last election about a year ago. Remember that the next time school board member elections come up again. There have been dismal turn-outs when it comes to voting....
I don't vote in Rio Rancho since I don't live there but if I did, I'd be doing my best to vote the loonies out. The article I read stated that policy 401 was voted in in 2005 and voted out in 2007 so that means two years in which they had the opportunity to teach ID or whatever they want to call it. I don't know what RR's actual curriculum was at that time but just the fact that they could discuss "alternatives to evolution" ( oh, dear ) is almost as bad as actually doing it.
