Hi Folks,

I work for the USPS as an MPE, based out of NY. Within the next few weeks, I'll be applying for a transfer to the Albuquerque P&DC facility. It's a move I've been researching and looking forward to since last August.

I'm wondering if anyone else on the forum works for USPS in Albuquerque. If so, I'd love to have some first-hand input on the general feeling of the facility, the general feeling of the place, how they people they work with are, and if they happen to work in the Maintenance Craft, please be as specific as you like.

Thanks!

I do not but just wanted to point out that there are two facilities here. It might help some if you mention which one you are looking to move to.

There are??? Wow, that's news to me. I've only ever heard of one, on Broadway, at the junction of 25 and 40. Would you do kind as to tell me the location of the other? I would appreciate it..

UPS Comanche Building is the one that you are referring to. It is near the I-40/I-25 Interchange. The other is on Aspen. Aspen is the one I use.

Crap....So sorry about that. I just assumed UPS as I don't use USPS much. Sorry.

op is working for the post office, not UPS

The main post office facility is on Broadway, it’s a little north of where I live so my branch is at that location. I could be wrong but I think that’s the only large USPS facility here

Looks like there was some confusion here, as UPS is not the postal service.

That said, there is a massive second USPS facility on the westside. No idea what the address is but it's way out there, and that's where most of the big stuff gets handled nowadays.

P&DC = Processing and Distribution Center. These serve a "region" and are usually not part of a "main post office" which serves a smaller area.

Might be better to ask in the Work and Employment Forum since there might be USPS employees in that forum
