Not sure if we will be in the Valley, Placitas or East Mountains, so all recommendations appreciated. Extra points for raw diet friendly!

Thanks!

Been using this facility for about 8 years for our dogs. They have horses there, so I guess they treat them also:

I use Corrales Veterinary. Not sure if they do horses or not. But there are plenty of vets around.

I thought I'd add these suggestions to Rich's and Alison's.
Besides the other groups I'd posted about before (Back Country Horsemen of NM and the NM Horse Council). If you call and get some personal suggestions from folks in those groups, their opinions and experiences from members, is one thing to try.

Another is this. Bayer makes many of our vaccines and medications for Equine and Canine etc.

They have a really nice information site for pet parents and Equine Vet. Many are members of the AAEP (American Assc. of Equine Practioners).

Go to this site:
http://www.animalhealth.bayerhealthcare.com

Scroll down to the drop down "chose website" menu box and there chose "Bayer Equine Connection", it will take you to that portion f their website, scroll way to the bottom of that page, THERE is a section to put in Zip codes for finding Vets (Equine on this page). I found at least 20 in a 15 mile radius of Albuquerque ( you can pick a larger miles range there too).

This works for any where in the country.
They have a vast database to use there.
You'll see all and many categories too to pick from besides Equine

There are names, phone numbers, maps and directions and if they have websites for each Vet. I know around here, Many of the Vet's do both pet and Equine, but some do strictly Equine like mine. I have a dif vet for my house pets.

This way you'll have a number of them to call and contact and get a feel for, talk with, pick who will suit your needs best, distance and areas etc.

I have a friend who works for the Equine division of Bayer and that is how I learned about this info site
They have a tons of helpful information there for us to use!

I sure hope this helps!

Well I'll probably pick specialists for each...at least for the horse.

Default ?

I was just curious, how much ya'll are charged in those parts for a barn call right now?

We're paying 40 for an individual, and of course that's split by however many he see's in 1 call if it's more than one (person's horse).

Thanks a bunch!
