Hello ABQ'ers,
I'm moving out there in a few weeks. Got the job, planning the move, etc. I can't wait.
Please see below pic. The red dot is where I"ll be working. I want to rent a 2BR within a few miles of this spot. I have found alot of complexes more east towards Tramway/ end of Academy.

Do you know of anything that's both decent and reasonabley priced in this area? I only need a place for 6months or so before I'm going to buy a house. I would like to keep it under $800 for a 2 BR.

I've found more than a few craigslist scams... "send me a check to West Africa and I'll send you the keys" I never thought renting a place could be so shady. Just looking for some advice from the locals.

I know about searching, I have searched the apartment threads, I'm looking for anyone who can recommend something in this immediate area of 87109. Complex/house/duplex/private whatever.
Thanks!

The Silverado Apartments are near there (Osuna and San Mateo).

What industry are you in?

Send me a DM, and I can tell you about the job. I searched for The Silverado and various rental ratings sites are not recommending them.... mostly saying their management and maintenance is terrible... water gets turned off all the time, broken a/c, etc. Since new mgmt took over in 2006 it is a complete dump.

But you say they are decent? The pics look okay and it is priced about right.

What are the name of the apartments on the east side of San Mateo just south of Osuna? They seem pretty decent. I'd tell you the name but I'm out of town and won't be passing by again until next week.

I would probably live at Mountain Run if I had a choice, but it would probably add about 6-7 minutes to your commute.

I don't have any recent experience with the Silverado Apartments... it's been a looong time.

Consider renting a house or condo in the neighborhood
to the North of your red dot. It is a relatively new neighborhood,
so is likely to have a bunch of homes available for rent.
