Well, I'm finally heading out to play my first round of golf since moving to Albuquerque. I am going to play at Desert Greens on golf course. I pass by it everyday on the way home and I get jealous when I see all the people out playing. I know it's still a little chilly, but I am stoked.
I'm gonna try to tee off tomorrow (Tuesday) around 1:00 p.m. if anyone is interested. Send me a message if you want to play!
FORE..................(I will be saying that a lot tomorrow)!!
Ha, I am very jealous...I have a huge meeting tomorrow. I have been playing a few rounds here and there...the season never ends in this town. We have a lot of great courses...but Paradise Hills (Desert Greens) is very nostalgic for me and I love that course. However, there are better courses so make sure you play a variety of locations.
I agree with Sunport, be sure to play Sandia, Santa Ana, Twin Warriors, Paa-ko Ridge, and UNM South. Isleta Eagle is always in great shape but not one of my favorite layouts. As for Desert Greens I play there often as well because of the close proximity to my home. While here head North to play Black Mesa, Towa (both near Espanola), and Pinon Hills (Farmington). Head south to play Sonoma Ranch and NMSU in Las Cruces, Inn of the Mountain Gods (Ruidoso), and Butterfield Trail (El Paso) which is a new Tom Fazio design. Anyhow, enjoy your round, and I'd be more than willing to tee it up sometime.

Pretty hot, but low humidity, so it's fine. Just hydrate a lot.

NM weather is nothing like FL weather. You will enjoy it here, no humidity, no bugs.
Be sure to drink plenty of water so you do not dehydrate.

I grew up in Florida.
It's a different hot.
Hot and dry with powerful sun. You don't think you sweat because of the low humidity. but your body will evaporate a lot of water.
The altitude is about 5,000 feet, most of Florida is less than 100 feet. Sandia Mountain is about 10,000 feet.
Enjoy, and drink a lot of water, wear singlasses and a hat...
Singlasses, huh? Not sure I want to know what those protect one from.
UV radiation from the sun can damage not only the skin of your eyelids but also the clear outer parts of the eye — the cornea and conjunctiva. UV exposure also contributes to the development of certain types of cataracts. When you're choosing sunglasses, look for UV protection details on product labels. Choose sunglasses that block at least 99 percent of UVB rays and at least 95 percent of UVA rays.
