I'm considering moving to Albuquerque in the next year and I'd like to get a better feel for the city.
What are some websites that you go to that focus mostly on Albuquerque news? They can be anything from political to entertainment to local and community news. I know about KOAT and KOB, but are there any others that you rely on?
I think one of Albuquerque's best news sites is at alibi.com. Despite the gamy type of advertiser base, they offer excellent coverage (better than the Journal) of city council meetings, and the more human side of news. Imagine if they had the Journal's resources how good the news coverage would be.
I agree with Zoidberg. Alibi is fantastic. I actually don't read the journal anymore, so it's an important asset to me. Another one might be the New Mexico Independent. It's more of a blog format I think, and they cover some state wide issues, but I'm a fan.
Avoid local television news sites (and local television outside of sports and weather). As in most places I have lived they are overly negative.
