thought we were going to get this great deal yesterday: our local liquor on the MO side of the border (we are dry) is celebrating 15 years in business this weekend with all kinds of specials including a special red wine bland, make by a Mo winery just for the occassion. Well asked hubby to pick up 2 or 3 bottles (at $5 each what the heck) thank God he checked: it is sweet red wine. I guess I will have to be content with his favorite for a few days: Franzia in the box. It certainly isn't my choice...I do have a bottle of good stuff opened so I will finish it before hitting the box. In fact, it will be time to start before long...

I've got a recent "best"...

Safeway (Culpeper VA in this case)

Buy one get one for 10 cents!!

Select bottles including Rex42 and Yellow Tail...so its basically BOGO. They also had Kendall Jackson Select Chardonney ($18 a bottle)!!

They also honored the 10% off a case. So, 12 bottle in total (including 2 Kendall Jacksons was about $62

I never bought one but some retailers offer a case of 6 bottles of 14% wines for $12.

Costco used to carry a 6 bottle pack of Beringer White Zinfandel, price wise it averaged around 4 bucks a bottle, maybe a little less. Suddenly, one day, they stopped carrying it. Don't know why.

They have loads and loads of beer deals, but no multipack bottles of wine anymore. Darn them.

It was a long time ago (1988) but I bought a case of white zin for $27 and some change at Beringer in Napa, about $2.25 each. Chateau Cash Flow, they called it. Tastes have matured a lot since then.
