I will drink white wine in the summer, but even then rarely. I am not sure we have tried Washington State wine, we have had Oregon wines though. Some are pretty good. I usually do keep about 4 or 5 bottles of white wine on hand. We have a few friends plus our daughter and our granddaughter drink mostly white.

I almost bought a bottle of $2 zinfandel this weekend (Altus, Arkansas, nmnita's stomping grounds) but it had already lost its spice, nose and flavor. Had to pass and bought instead an excellent $5 seyval blanc.

Thanks. Been years since I've been in "Whole Paycheck", but this gives me a reason to return (just to the wine department!)

Is there any time of year that they do this, or all year 'round?

yups like dens said above, they do it year round...one of the good things about whole paycheck is they dont live by selling booze...so the customer gets good deals, and if you talk to them about a wine they dont have they will do whatever they can to bring it in the store, they are pretty good about it.

melini borghi d'elsa chianti 2010.

Meh, I am not a big wine guy or a wine guy at all but I thought I'd try one and not impressed. I prefer champagnes instead, I can put even a cheap champagne down no problem.
