I'm usually a beer drinker (raised in Pa. - I think we were brought up on it :P) - I do occasionally have wine or a mixed drink - but as a rule, I'm a beer gal.
Mostly wine with the occasional beer or gin & tonic. I also will drink champagne - just don't have occasion to other than weddings etc (although a mimosa on Christmas morning is pretty nice!). I do also agree that a good homemade sangria (with fresh fruit) is a treat on a summer evening. Hmmm, kinda sounding like I like most things (although not rum....ick)
a sports match at a bar or on TV- beer, dark or light (pref. dark)
a bar/disco- vodka, gin, or mixed drinks. depends on how i want my night to go. if its a chill night. a few mixed drinks, or a six pack. if i want to party hard, bypass the beer for shots and tanq and tonics all night.
I love mixed drinks, esp. those made w/ either rum (I love rum!) or vodka. I seem to have lost my tolerance w/ large amounts of the supersweet bottled mixed drinks like Bahama Mama and Zombie (or maybe I've just lost my tolerance for Barcardi mixers?), but enjoy them every once and a while. I've never been a big fan of Long Islands or Pina Coladas though
I went to Chili's around Xmas w/ some friends and have rediscovered my love of margaritas. the ones I had at chili's were horribly watered down () but I loved the tropical flavored one. I've got to play around w/ tequila now
not a huge beer drinking, though I tend to drink it when I'm at bars or parties that serve them up (I don't really have a favorite brand, just know what I dislike). ditto wine, though I haven't had it too often
