How are Middle Eastern people treated in Latin American Countries? Are Hispanics generally more nice towards them or are they more hostile to recent Middle Eastern immigrants? Are there any ethnic or racial tensions towards each other?

The Lebanonse population is pretty much throughout all of South America. Brazil was a major destination for them. I think read somewhere that there are more Lebanese living outside of Lebanon than in Lebanon, and most of them made their home in Brazil.

However, Lebanon is half christian and half muslim, and generally quite secular.

I lived in South America for ten months, and I can't recall seeing any conservative muslims with strong muslim culture/attire. I think most middle easterners down there seemed to be a couple generations in already, and blended into the culture.

Not any different than the rest of the populace and most if not all have blended in with the culture. Several politicians and business people in many Latin American countries such as Carlos Menem (former president of Argentina), and Carlos Slim (Mexican business tycoon who is one of the richest people in the world) are of Lebanese descent for example (not to mention pop star Shakira).

However most Lebanese and Arab people living in Latin America tend to be christian.

Jews/Arabs are treated very well in Vzla. Arabs are a decent portion of the vzlan melting pot.

Lebanese and Syrians have been immigrating to Latin America and the Caribbean for a very long time. I think that Brazil even has Palestinean communities and descendants.

They have become very successful and many have been successful in business.

Selma Hayek is half Arab and half Spaniard. Her father is an Arab immigrant from Lebanon or Syria

Shakira's father is an Arab.

Middle easterners are treated well in Latin America. There are many people of middle eastern background all over Latin America.

Christian Arabs came in huge numbers to Brazil in the early 20th century, and integrated very well to Brazilian society. Their descendants are totally mixed to the general population, to a extent that it's even difficult to tell who has Arab ancestry and who has not.

Muslim Arabs came to Brazil in very small number, and I assume it's a little more difficult for them to integrate, but eventually, they can integrate into Brazilian society too.
