I live in Fortaleza.

My city is said to have one of the highest muder rates in the world.

As you can see, I registered for City Data Forum in December 2010.

5 years later, I wasn't murdered yet!

See you in December 2020, when I turn 10 years as a City Data Forum member, without getting murdered!

By the way, in the past 5 years, only one person that I personally knew was murdered, and this person was widely believed to be involved with illegal activities...

The fact that you feel the need to make a thread about this just shows how unsafe Northern Brazil really is.

Also the part where you say "In the past 5 years, only one person that i personally knew was murdered"

In the past 25 years i don't know even know 1 person that was murdered.

Oh please the chances of being killed are sooo slim. Maybe chances are increased with people like you David, who love to snort their neurons away, but the general savy tourists will just get-on and have a good time.

You may get mugged but if you only carry what you are prepared to loose, you're laughing.

For all the bad, most Latin Americans are full of vibrancy and good energy, those that don't want to experience that are missing out.

I would go to Fortaleza in a heart-beat.

Congrats on your ability stay alive ! Please share you secrets.

I find many (not all) people that get murdered are usually involved in illegal activites or happen to be unlucky bystanders when violent incidences between people involved with illegal activities take place.

Because you probably never knew anyone who was involved with illegal activities.

Most people in Fortaleza also never knew anyone who was involved with illegal activities, and thus never knew anyone who was murdered.

But I'm not "most people".

I'm some kind of survival expert, you know...

I'm like a mix of James Bond and Bruce Willis, otherwise I wouldn't be alive for so long in such a "dangerous" city...

You speak of how you are alive and nobody has murdered you yet you do not tell us how many people you have murdered.
