This tickled me. The house appears to be about 100 years old, and family rooms were not the "in" thing 100 years ago. Most likely, this was a front room or "parlor" or even a "chamber" (as bedrooms were then known).

Regardless, it's a really cool picture of a once-beautiful home.

Detroit is starting to recover and repair, while the suburbs are starting to decay. The suburban decay process is faster, as cheap commercial buildings are made for temporary tenants. Vinyl siding falls off houses in 20 years. Big dead malls stay visible longer.

I never heard of this church. Sad to see it go. Looks stunning but it’s been abandoned for 30 years and was falling apart. Sad. Jay
