Looks great! Big difference!

I love the burgundy color you chose. It pulls the red from the bricks. The door looks fantastic!

The landscaping looks fuller now. As it matures, your entrance will look fantastic.

Good job!

Your home is lovely. I think what is bugging you is that its a little on the plain side. I have some suggestions. First I think your home has a european influence which is one of my favorite types of architecture.

I searched for the internet on a good example to show you but was unable to find a good picture. So I will describe what I am talking about. I hope it helps. Adding some wrought iron is going to really add some wow factor to your home. I would add a faux balcony or window box. If you google european window boxes, many sites will come up. Here are a couple of examples of a faux balcony/planter boxes. I have no idea how to actually put the pictures on here, so I added the links.

Add shutters. You will find ones that fit. But they may have to be special ordered at your local home improvement store. They are usually the same price as in stock ones, they just take a week to come in. Choose black or a dark green.

Your landscaping needs more color as european gardens are very lush. Have no idea though on what are good plantings in TX but here is a picture of a garden. You can sub it for plants that would live in your area.

If any of this sounds good to you, I would suggest getting a home magazine or a book on european architecture.

That is my two cents.

Thanks! The bushes, grass, and flowers are really taking off with the recent rains we've had!

Fantastic input, thanks! You read my mind with the wrought iron. I think the wrought iron on the front door is a good start to base everything else off of.

Next step is to install a wrought iron faux balcony, or wooden flower boxes with the same finish as the door and wrought supports underneath. I have the materials for the latter but haven't started on the project yet. I am considering a wrought iron handrail in place of what i have now, but i haven't decided on that yet.

I have a couple small oak trees in the front yard that are not visible in the pic.... but they are really getting nice bushy and it really compliments the yard. I am considering planting 1 or 2 more trees on the other side of the driveway just to fill it up a bit. Should really look sharp in a couple years when they get a nice pruning!
