Which is the safest driving route to Boise Idaho? Driving a rental truck, with kids and animals. Looking to stay away from any mountain driving. Thank you

Even with the most direct route from Phoenix to Boise, you're going to encounter 'some' mountain driving. Most direct route as follows... US 60 West (out of Phoenix) to US 93 north (Wickenburg), to I-40 west to Exit 44 in Kingman (Beale Street/ US 93) US 93 north cross the Hoover Dam. US 93 runs/turns into I-515 in Henderson NV, I -515 to I -15 north thru Salt Lake City. Note: at this point you can bypass much of the downtown traffic in Salt Lake City by using I-215. coontinue on I-15 to I-84 west. I-84 will run you right into Boise. By my mileage program 1050 miles. 17.5 hours driving time. Hope this helps.

excellent advice from Peg, who, if I remember, is a trucker??....except for several miles between Wickenburg and Kingman (and a short section near Boulder City), this is all four-lane divided highway

drive carefully.....

We just did this route last month and the I-15 is the way to go. You might make it into Nephi for the night.

As per typical you will run into construction along the way.

There is always construction in Salt Lake City. Try to avoid SLC during rush hour.
