As the title says, Im new to Arizona. I moved down to the phoenix area about 4 months ago for work and Im looking to move my ex and our children to the state. It may seem easy enough but... my ex is a craftsman...has his own biz, so is looking for a place a bit outside of any town/city for the courtesy of the neighbors.

Ive looked a little at Show Low but dont know too much about the different areas of the state to know if its good or if the other small towns in the area would be good...not too hot in the summer, not too cold in the winter (not too cold is relative to -30 degree Minnesota winters hes use to so "It gets below zero a few days in the winter" is nothing to him), needs to have a little outside space to work and a relatively rural setting. 3 bedrooms is ideal, pet friendly is preferable but not necessary. As far as the type of home itself, that is flexible. Monthy rent also needs to be reasonable as he is a single parent, currently keeps up with $800 a month house payments and he doesnt want to go any higher than that.

Any suggestions and help is very much appreciated. Ive been searching online but without driving all over the state to see, its hard to tell.

Thank you all in advance!

Default Show Low Sucks!

Show Low, AZ sucks. I have been here for a year and a half now. I am 21 years old, and nearly everyone I've met my age here is a total druggie or a rich snob who never worked for anything a day in their life. I have been screwed out of a few thousand bucks already from several individuals and places. I work for Wal-Mart, same as a good percentage of the population here. I bring home under $1,000/month, have no benefits and get 32 hours a week, and that's one of the better jobs up here. There are people that have been there since the economy was booming that couldn't find steadier work up here in ten years! There is very little to do for entertainment as well (that's if anyone here could afford any ). If you are not in one of the cliques here, you are basically royally screwed. I would try Prescott or maybe Payson.

The OP hasn't been here since April, I suspect whatever decision she and her husband had to make has been made.
