For the record; I used to hang out at a coffeehouse in Kingman about 3-4 years ago named The Fountain. The sad part is they closed up shop in early 2005.

Prior to that there was another coffeehouse; also on Beale St but they went out a longer time back.

Supposedly there is presently a place on Oak St just N of Beale.

My being a non drinker and disliking casinos, etc. I tend to gravitate to 'indie' coffeehouses where one can listen to acoustic/jazz music in the evening, etc.

Hmmmmm . . . maybe you should open up your own coffeehouse - if there's none there, sounds like you might be able to make a small fortune!

I need to take a drive down Oak St and go looking for that coffee house. I'll report back what I find. If there isn't one, I think that Kingman is ripe for something like that. Live music, that would be a gas.

Yes Sir
Was there a couple of weeks ago. It is right next to the English Tea house? or store (stop in they have great clotted cream) and the next is (the one I call religous) right down the street up from the circle K and train park. The Religous one has great Pastries and coffee as well.
The one on Beale stays open late on weekends and has local talent entertaining. They have great coffee and smoothies. Room is tight and people end up outside on the sidewalk grabbing tables.
We do miss the old coffee shop on Beale it was in a very old house and had a good atmosphere it changed hands a couple of times then went belly up.
The water place on Northern used to serve up decent coffee but no more.
Starbucks is almost done with there store on Stockton hill rd but it should not affect local places.
Almost forgot the Mountain Shack place in front of Smiths on Stockton Hill it is a franchise place out of Montana I beleive. They drive the wife crazy because of 20 questions to get her coffee served up right.

Beale St? I wish they would post some info online.......

I am familar with the English tea place and I heard of the old shop in that house by the garden.

The last 'Beale St' place I remember was the Fountain (2001-05) smack dab by the 'Kingman' bar. It is now a martial arts place.

2004 was a rather rough year for me $$$ but the Fountain had a big hand in my keeping my sanity during that era; I almost always went home Friday night (Lake Havasu City) with a smile on my face.

Now that I think about it that fountain place was sorta narrow as you walked in and the counter was on the left and you could go out back and sit on the patio?

I don't know if its good or bad that I know these coffee places in Kingman.

We don't have shopping centers, or a great movie theater but we have coffee.

Call me wierd (no comment ); but with a decent indie coffeehouse like the late Fountain, life can become a whole lot nicer even if many of the other amenities suck

Default Kingman has some great coffee places now!

I have lived here almost twenty years. I've seen coffeeshops come and go. The Oldtown Coffeehouse was a great place to hang out; the Fountain was an o.k. alternative, but didn't last. Now we have Oak Street Haven, which is great - alot like the Oldtown Coffeehouse in that it has great coffee and homemade goodies, but it also has Friday night entertainment and sometimes on Sat. they have special music or plays, etc. They carry alot of really nice gift items - which is great for when you need a gift for someone and can't get out of town. They have books and bibles too - but the atmosphere is great. You can sit outside on the front porch - it has a white picket fence with green grass and flowers & trees in the yard. It's a very peaceful quiet retreat. And the service has always been pretty good. I would highly recommend it. I also know there is a new coffeehouse on Beale Street, called Beale Street Brews. I have been there once. It's small and cute - they have Friday night music as well. Of course, there is the new Starbuck's further north - but I personally don't care for Starbuck's anymore - so it's nice to have some other alternatives on the other side of town.

Anyway, having been here a long time, I see alot of good things happening in downtown Kingman that makes it a much nicer place to visit. And this is just the beginning - a lot more will be happening in the downtown area over the next several years. There is talk of breaking ground for a convention center, resort, and shopping/gallery mall w/park in January '08- sounds too good to be true. We'll just have to see!
