Does anyone know if you can transfer the title of a car to someone who doesn't have a license yet? Long story short, my girlfriend's sister bought a car a few months back from a private party, however we ended up registering it in my name because she didn't have a license. My girlfriend and I plan on moving out in a few months and I'd rather the car not be in my name if we're not here to make sure nothing happens to it...

Yes, you can. Plenty of people here in AZ as registered owners of cars, but without AZ licenses.

You better check on that with DMV, not a forum.

Here is a web site regarding the registration/ownership of a vehicle in AZ.
Arizona Car Registration Guide - Renewals, Changing States, New Vehicle Purchases, Non Operational at DMV.org: The DMV Made Simple
I believe you can title it but it looks like you also need to register the vehicle and that owner must provide proof of insurance coverage. And if you do not have a drivers license and proof of insurance the vehicle cannot be driven on public roads.

OP your best bet as stated above is to call the AZDMV directly and explain your situation to them.

Here is the AZDMV website with their phone number: Motor Vehicle Division Registration Renewal and Tags
