What happened with plans for the Walmart Distribution Center in Kingman? Did it collapse along with the Rhodes Development?

Kingman is growing at a fast pace, which is great news for the city. More businesses are coming to Kingman and will continue to come to Kingman due to the access of the railroad, airport and Interstate 40. The land and taxes are more affordable for companies. New communities continue to go up, the latest being The Ranch at Long Mountain just south of the Kingman airport with more than 100 homes already built and another 200 homes now being built. It is only a matter of time before Wal-Mart brings its distribution center to Kingman, as Wal-Mart did close on the purchase of their land. The new center will create more jobs.

Although Rhodes Homes has moved its equipment out of Golden Valley, including computers and desks, I spoke to DCD Realty, whch represents Rhodes Homes, and I was told Rhodes has made a business decision to move operations out of Golden Valley until all the permits and approvals are granted. I was assured that Rhodes Homes would be back to Golden Valley to finish all of its projects.

If it comes, it might be a great opportunity to move elsewhere. Too many big box stores won't "save" a town. I have seen Big Box stores closing in droves, and I have to wonder What went wrong?" if the idea was so "hunky dory" to begin with. So much of what comes from wal mart ends up bleaching out in junk piles, and yard sales.

If I recall there was a water supply issue for there facility, but don't quote me then of course the economy went south as well.
Look at the new hospital and how much money they and Kingman had to put out for bigger pumps to feed the fire protection system, was not cheap.

We're talking about a distribution center, not another big box store. We already have a Walmart. Check it out some time.
