Two words, entitled baby boomers. If they get exempted from property taxes, why not everybody else? That's all it is, and I thought my generation of Millennials were bad.

Because "everybody else" don't live on a fixed income.

There are other ways to give seniors a break without being completely exempted; for instance this from Colorado:

Property Tax Exemption Program* for Seniors and Disabled Veterans. A property-tax exemption is available to senior citizens, surviving spouses of senior citizens, and disabled veterans. For those who qualify, 50 percent of the first $200,000 in actual value of their primary residence is exempted from property taxation.

That's three words and why do you hate senior citizens?

Why would I dislike a group of people? There are Millennials who are just as bad, I despise them just as much. When you have hoards of people of the same group in an area, it gets overwhelming. Too bad if people get triggered.

Doesn’t matter if they live on a fixed income or not. It’s not anyone else’s problem if they couldn’t financially plan for retirement. All this policy change does is shift the burden unfairly to working people again. Like do working people need money to save for their future as well?

That would save me $10,000 a year.

All the same, I wouldn't vote for it. Let's not play those kinds of games, pitting one generation against others.

Besides, other taxes would have to be raised or implemented to make up the shortfall.
