So for those of you that relocated, if you subtract the cost of the actual move, about how much would you say you had when you relocated to get you going? My Aunt and Uncle left Cleveland with about $1000 and a year later they have a nice 3 bdr. rental home and are off and running in Gilbert AZ. That's the low extreme side. We're looking middle of the road side more or less. We're not taking much of anything. Coming all the way from Florida. Buckeye and Goodyear are the targets of relocation for us. Family of 5.

Your aunt and uncle started their life in AZ with $1000? When you calculate the cost of the move is securing your new residence included? Seems like your aunt and uncle might be the best sources.

You'll need 2 months rent to get a place. (First month and security deposit). Do you have a job lined up? That's a big plus prior to any move.
