Hi all!

Just found this site and I would like to thank all of you for the imformative posts.

I was born in Fort Huachuca and have lived in the northeast most of my life. I have always been proud to be born in AZ and would like to get back some day.

I have been looking into the Sierra Vista area and would welcome any info.

Thank you,
Craig

Check the local Tucson area TV news online feeds, particularly KVOA. They keep up pretty well on all the greater south eastern Arizona happenings: KVOA News 4, Tucson, Arizona - Home

Sierra Vista is sorta "fire-scared" right now. Seems someone thought it funny to start fires at the base of a couple popular canyons along the base of the Huachucha Mtns, and the main drag by Sierra Vista and Hereford. A "fire-bug" on the loose in the summer is a frightening thing.

The town of SV is not my 'choice' place, however I adore the canyons nearby and visit them often, rent a cabin, hike, watch wildlife, and just get away from it all! Gorgeous, but like everywhere else - gotta watch your back, as the wilderness area there is a hotbed for smuggling of all sorts & sure don't want to be surprised by any of that sort.

WOW Idaho!!!

The stories I have heard of Sierra Vista are much differenet. I guess alot can happen in 20 years!! My parents always talked about what a laid back atmosphere it was there. Although they were on the base, "real" life most likely didn't effect them.

My wife and I are on a 10 year plan. Once the kids are off to college we are heading west. Just not sure where yet. We both love the southwest and personally I have always had a calling to return.
