Typically, I'm not data user, but I have an unlocked smart phone... and I am planning a road trip to visit family and explore the West Coast, both Southern/Northern California, and possibly Nevada and Northern Arizona on the way back to Phoenix. Would love to have netflix/access to email/facebook/great GPS.
Hence, I finally have a need for internet on my cell phone. I'll need to buy it here in Phoenix, before I start he trip to the West Coast, and it needs to be compatible with iPhone 4S or Google Nexus 4 smartphone.
I'd prefer to pick it up at a local store, and prefer not to have to use a credit card in the process. (don't have one at the moment).
Is Walmart the best place to pick up a pre-paid micro sim for data? Walmart is the only store I can even recall seeing prepaid phone cards before, but i think they were standard sized sims, if I recall correctly.
Basically, I just want to know what carrier offers the best coverage, data allowance, and supports features like mobile hotspot, as there will be multiple devices hooked up in the car.

At&t mobile hotspot works great but it is expensive and not unlimitted. You will go through your data very fast especially with all of those devices. I think Cricket has mobile hotspot but I'm not knowledgeable on the details but if you're "Ballin on a Budget" generally Cricket and T-Mobile is the way to go.

O........gotcha......yeah I'm very sure I guess call around and see whats up. I mean Walmart sells everything and then some so I'm sure you can find what you're looking for in the electronics department.
