Hi all I been a long time reader but this is my first post. I'm trying to decide between Arizona (Phoenix or Tucson) or San Antonio tx I currently live in Dallas but I'm not to happy here I have a job I'm an auto mechanic but I. The Dallas area there's too much competetion and I can't make money, on my work block there's 6 other auto repair facilities. I'm hoping to find a comparison between San Antonio and the Arizona cities hopefully someone who has lived in both places. My biggest concern is moving and not being ableto make money mechanics get laid off a comission and if people can't afford to fix there car I'm broke lol and help would be awesome!

San Antonio is an amazing city, a lot more friendly and down to earth than Phoenix, BUT...

there will be tons of competition. San Antonio is one of the best cities for auto repair in the nation:

Arizona is an auto-centric state, expect to find lots of good auto repair anywhere in the state.

According to a recent poll, most auto mechanics agree 2-1 that even though Texas has good Tex-Mex music and food, Arizona has even better Sonoran-style Mexican food and music. Not to mention that women who reside in the Sonoran desert are much better looking.

Definitly Tucson Arizona. Phoenix 2nd. Wouldn't you rather have mountains around you?

In Arizona right now on vacation and loving it. From Texas. San Antonio is great, but yeah you will have to deal with those Spurs fans, so I don't know.....Seriously though, San Antonio might be the better choice. I base this on some family that lives down there and from what I hear on their local real estate prices, businesses, and yes their food...out of this world wonderful!

I've been to San Antonio a few times and love it, but I wouldn't want to live there. Same goes for Phoenix (lived there for a year)... to dirty, ugly, busy and overpopulated. I lived in Tucson for 5 years and loved it. As far as a desert setting goes it really is quite green there. As for jobs, it's anybodys guess these days.
