Well, that's just silly. It's like saying "can regular aerobic exercise replace religion?"

The things that tend toward improved mental health aren't a zero sum game. They all magnify each other.

I believe the two can be one and the same, the benefits of faith can improve an persons mentality, but that depends on a persons perspective of faith. an atheist can have a good mindset but bad ideals. That being said alot of believers think like atheists. So i guess it depends of practice and study of what is good, right and helpful for all.
