We have all seen the statistics about Bible belt states having higher teen pregnancy and violent crime rates, but I was curious if there were any Christianity statistics that showed anything good. Anywhere in the world is there statistical evidence that Christianity improves anything?
well prayer has been banned in the schools for some time
and violence is way up in the schools and performance is way down
would you accept that there is any correlation?
how bout my citing a periodical that states regular church attendance in urban areas causes crime among the attendees to fall to zero?

Only if you could show that Christian schools in the same area as these struggling schools were doing significantly better.

yes that is exactly the kind of thing I am looking for, do you have a link?

lol Are you serious? Prayer helps kids who don't study and who's parents aren't involved? I gotta get in on that one - finals week is fast approaching!

This is untrue. I went to a Christian high school and it had a much drastically higher drinking problem than every public school in the county. There were as many teen pregnancies as there were in the public school. There were as many drug dealers as there were in the local public school and there was the same amount of violence. There were also people that brought weapons to school which never happened in the town's public school. It seems that prayer and religion may actually have a negative effect on children.

So they allowed the non-Christians in? How is that Christianity's fault? Other than that they should have been more selective in who attends?
Or was it a nominally "Christian" school like many of the catholic high schools that i have in my area?
I think the answer has to be yes, of course. There are Christians who have done a lot of good. Some of the Christian organizations have done a lot of good. Even the double edge sword where they do some good and some bad, still do some good. There is nothing absolute. The good that has come does not remove the bad that has been done. The harder question to answer is whether Christianity has done more good than bad.
The absolutes are for the religious minded. Those who see everything as god or satan donneit.
Reality is always in shades of gray. Some of the most generous things that have been done end up doing a great deal of harm - unintended consequences.
It was a reformed/fundamentalist Christian school. They didn't allow non-Christians to attend.
Very sad. I'm guessing mommy and daddy at least knew the right buzzwords to use in the application/interview process.
Doesn't mean the kids were committed to the cause though.
