Hi. I just received a message in my profile section from someone who wants me to have a nice xmas. It was a sparkly picture of a xmas tree.
It made me uneasy since I'm so new here and this was from a total stranger. Since I had received a snarky messages like that on purpose on another site (discussion about religion) it makes me wonder:

Most people on CD are really nice and welcoming.
I'm not Christian and I get holiday wishes. I don't take them as a personal attack, I just accept them in the spirit in which they were sent. When I send holiday greetings they are those of my beliefs even though not everyone shares them.
That being said, welcome to CD and have a blessed Yule.
I haven't gotten one, and I wouldn't be offended if I did...mainly because Christmas is the religious holiday, while "X-mas" is the commercial phenomenon.
I haven't got any because my E-mail box says 'No Junk mail, please'.
