Which one will you prefer? Do you want a funeral? I know, .... kind of a creepy question but I'm curious to see where the non-believers are on this issue.

Me- No funeral, and cremated

For me.....VIKING FUNERAL!!!!!!!!!! (I guess that's technically cremation.)

Why?????? Because it's just AWESOME dude.

Actually I will most likely donate my body do science. Might as well be useful. And I hate the idea of being embalmed and buried and rotting for years and years and poisoning the ground to boot (embalming fluid).

I don't believe in cremation, but probably for not for any rational reason. I just don't think it serves the memory of the person (or pet) well, to destroy its body and DNA. I know embalming is not exactly natural, and that the body will decay, but it still seems better to me.

Default No Pine Boxes!

Got to be cremation for me. I know, I know... I DO NOT believe in any afterlife, but I'm still so frickin' claustrophobic ( the genesis of which was a rather cruel childhood prank incident that my older brother played on me when I was about 8 - 10 yrs old. Ad a result, even 55 years later, there's NO WAY I'm EVER going into any constraining dark hole, even if I'm dead! You know, like a tight pine box? Yorks!

As well, especially these days when I seem to be needing such imaging all the more often, this has hindered the medical utility of MRIs, CATs, even close-fitting X-Ray machines, so that I usually have to be well druggo'd to even be be the same room. I can't even watch some sequences depicting MRIs, etc., on TV shows!

Yup: I gotz it BAD, man!

A-course, some of them are rather nicely finished..

But still., to go git yourself dropped into a permanently dark, damp and moldy box, and then into another hole, just to rot away with dem woy-mees?

Nope. No thanks!

My family has asked about my wishes and I tell them that I have none at all. Whatever they wind up doing, it won't be a concern of mine at that point. I won't know if they drop me at the city dump or send me off like Don Corleone. There is no way I could be pleased or offended, so I'm making it survivor option entirely.

Cremation, and I want my ashes to fertilize the peach orchard at the ranch down the road. It makes me smile to believe that someday my atoms will be in a fabulous juicy peach.
It would also be very cool if morels grew from my ashes.

LOL.

Cool idea.

I might get 'Mourners R Us' to come and twang me into a tree.

Other than that, I have no idea what I want to happen to me after passing. It's not something I've spent one iota of time thinking about to be honest. I guess I'll leave it up to my nearest and dearest, after all funerals are for them really. I'll be dead so I have no idea.

Burial in a Jewish cemetery (I seldom go to shul but I strongly identify as Jewish on a cultural basis).
