Maybe in small town america that sort of thing would be more shocking, but if you are kid that grows up in Atlanta or New York or Chicago or wherever it's called "Saturday Night".
Somehow a lot of the kids who grew up in Atlanta and environs don't view Saturday night as a time to go wreck the public art on the Beltline.

As for the ones who do grow believing that's the thing to do, where do they draw the line on what it's okay to tear up? And at what age?

You seem to be taking the wrong thing away from what I'm saying. Teenagers like to cause mischief. SOME of that mischief leads to vandalism. Not all kids commit vandalism, but some do. When you are in a city where that tens of thousands of kids, vandalism is likely to occur. It is not ok, but sticking your head in the sand about that reality isn't either. Got it?

Frankly, you're the one who seems to be sticking her head in the sand about it. The destruction of public art is not something that "just happens" because you're in a city. It's a specific choice by specific individuals to go out and tear up things that are important to others. It's not weather, it's not gravity, it's not hair or eye color or anything else you have no control over. It's a personal, individual choice.

You can pretend that is not true, but the hard reality is you can either destroy other peoples things, or not do it.

To borrow your phrase -- Got it?
