We may be moving to Atlanta for work, located in Vinings. My husband and I will probably rent for the first 6 mos or year to make sure we like the area. We have toddlers and need to find good (affordable) childcare as well as good public and/or Catholic schools. We'd really prefer a single home in a nice neighborhood and would love to be near parks, but can't really afford more than $1000/month for at least a 3 bdrm. Really would prefer as short a commute as possible. Right now, I only live about 5 minutes from my work and it's AWESOME. Any suggestions?

There is Smyrna which is adjacent to Vinings. I don't recall any mention of Catholic churches in the area--maybe someone knows.

Advice on Vinings Estates and Nickajack Elementary

Thinking of moving from SF Bay Area to Atlanta

Looking for most Catholic areas of Atlanta

This seems to be a larger church in Marietta--how far this would be from Vinings I cannot say>>>

Check out Vinings at River Pkwy Apts. Its on Cobb Pkwy @ Paces Mill Road at the border between Vinings and Buckhead. Very good location both to the job in Vinings and anything and everything Atlanta has to offer. I think 3 bedrooms there are around $1050 and they're updated nice apartments. Smyrna(right next door to Vinings) has alot of cheaper apartments but has more of a suburban feel and apartments in Smyrna are very hit and miss. Just because the community is pretty, has well kept grounds, and the apartments are nice on the inside does't mean the community is safe, quiet, and filled with polite and considerate neighbors. Alot of apartment communities in your price range will not be updated in that part of Cobb County. It's a hard budget to work with for a 3 bedroom but with Vinings at River Pkwy you can't lose.
