Thanks, Lady Ro.
Does anyone else have any recommendations?
How does that Promove thing work?

Just go to Promove's homepage and either email or call them. I had a great experience with them, personally. Be as specific as possible about what you want (in terms of price, area of town, etc.). Don't be afraid to ask them about what they know about the general neighborhood and tenants. (They can tell you more than the leasing agents can.)

I was looking in the same area as you, and with Promove's help I found Wildwood Ridge off of Powers Ferry (Smynings-ish area). They were pretty great overall.

I echo the distrust of apartmentratings, btw. In my experience, the ratings were all ridiculously biased--either completely negative or completely positive. The latter category almost always seemed to be plants from the housing agencies. The former were people too irrational and angry to provide a useful review. You really need to hear from the broad middle of residents to get to know a place, and that's exactly who *doesn't* post reviews online.

Thank you sir!

That was another question I had....is it acceptable to ask a leasing agent about the demographic makeup of the residents?

Safe Apartment Complexes in Sandy Springs/Dunwoody

~~~~~~
<A poster said:>
Here are our assessments:
Archstone Perimeter Park: Good rent prices, nice complex. Floor plans have a lot of angles so there is not a lot of space. Little pantry space in kitchen. Bedroom would not have a lot of room to fit a king size bed.
Dunwoody Place: Lovely complex and grounds. Lots of long-time residents. Very large floor plans. Nice bonuses. Easily can fit a King Size bed in Master. Large closet space.
Hawthorne Gates: Smaller community. Nice size apartments. Angles in apartments make space tough to deal with.
Colonial Grand at Mount Vernon: Older looking apartments. Poor quality and older appliances. Turned off.
Gables Metropolitan: Huge complex >1100 units. Nice apartments, new applaiances. Little pantry/storage space. Near top of price range.
Ashford Park: Nice size apartments. New cabinetry and appliances. Lots of storage space.
Savannah at Park Place: Nice complex but starting to show its age. Full size Washer/dryers included in all apartments. Prices are good.
The Heights at Perimeter Center: New and beuatiful resort-type complex. Beautiful courtyards and pools. At high end of price range though.
You could also contact Pro Move apt locator service.
Is there a similar thread for Vinings, Smyrna, Marietta, Buckhead? I am trying to move OUT of Sandy Springs
