New to city-data..but so far this seems to be a really great place for answers!
I'll be starting a fellowship at Emory in a month or so.. After looking at rentals, I've found that I can actually afford to purchase a townhome or condo for cheaper than paying rent. I was originally looking NE of Emory (because directly around Emory was more than I am willing to pay); but then it sold. So now I've found a couple new options. There's a foreclosure in West-midtown which is a really great price, and then there's a townhome and a condo in Sandy Springs. Both, from a purchase standpoint, are a really great value. However, I was wondering about commute time and possible resale.
I don't mind a little commute and I don't have a problem with not living in-town. I would prefer to save money or invest in something than to pay higher rent just to be in midtown.
