Hello everyone,
I was wondering if anyone here has any experiences with the Post Renaissance apartments. I am moving there in January and would like to know what you thought about the community and how safe the area is. I currently live about an hour away from Atlanta and just got accepted to GSU. I have a little bit of anxiety about moving into the city so any information is appreciated.

Thank you
Ryan

One of my best friends had a 3 bedroom there. One of the roommates went to GSU. I certainly have some good memories of the place...grilling out and the pool, but I can't say how it is to live there. The community is gated, but just across the gate along Ralph MacGill you will see/hear noisy bums and crackheads. I don't know how your typical resident is, but I imagine there are a good amount of GSU and even a few Tech students (my friend went to Tech).

No experience with Post Renaissance. I know Post Biltmore is nice though. in case Renaissance doesn't workout for you.

Ha, I lived in Post Biltmore for a year...I won't comment on that. DM me if you want to know my thoughts on Post properties.

I looked at it, but ended up somewhere a little newer a few blocks down and not so overpriced. Post properties tend to be overpriced just a little bit due to the number of properties they have. It is an older place although nice. It is gated, and has a very nice suburban feel right in middle of the city. That area is changing for the better, but as like one of the posters said, it is an area for a lot of homeless people, esp the park across the street as there is a very large 500+ men homeless shelter right down the block. I dont think you should have any problems in the complex though, just not an area where you want to walk down the street at night. The homeless shelter is due to shutdown supposedly by the end of the year, but we will see if that happens as the shelter is trying to sue the city to keep it open.

Thank you to everyone for giving me your opinions of Post Renaissance. I was able to get a one bedroom for around $650 so I jumped on the price and reserved the apartment.

Glad you had some luck. I'd jump on it too for 650.

Thats a good price. I lived in Post Gardens for a while, and overall I was satisfied with Post Properties. I live about a mile from Post Renaissance now, and that's a pretty decent area of town...just a few sketchy pockets around you, which is to be expected in a big city.
