I have spent a lot of time looking for preschools in our area, but I feel I may be overlooking something as I have not found many that fit with our priorities. We live in Tucker and are interested in a Montessori or similar curriculum. We would like a school that offers morning classes a few days a week for our son who will be 3 next year. It seems that many of the schools integrate religion into the curriculum, which we are not interested in. If anyone knows of any options within 5-10 miles of the Tucker area we would appreciate it. We have only found a couple that we are considering but aren't totally satisified with those.

Thanks!

Yes, thanks for sharing that. I did see that one but they only offer 5 day a week classes.

Most Montessori schools are going to be 5 days a week even in preschool.

Have you looked at Cliff Valley? At least when my kids were little, which was a 100 years ago, it was considered one of the best.

Yes, Cliff Valley is very good but out of our price range. Thanks for the suggestion though.

In general, pre-schools that are affordable are sponsored by churches or other religious organizations. This is because they are subsidized by the church. Does this make sense?

Independent pre-schools have to pay all their bills themselves.

There is a Montessori school in Dunwoody which may have options to attend fewer days.

Most Montessori schools require that you attend a minimum of 5 half days a week. But this economy has been tough on Montessori preschools, because they are more expensive than traditional church-run preschools. If you find a school you like and can afford, I recommend trying to negotiate with the director a shorter school week. The Montessori schools near me (in Johns Creek) have recently started offering 3 half-day programs because they've lost too many students to cheaper preschools.

Good luck.
