Ok, so I have found lodging and booked that...now I am looking at the aquarium tickets and options (4D shows, Dolphin show, etc) and wondering if I should just buy a general admission ticket or is it worth the extra $ for the add on? It will be my husband and I, and our 2 children, ages 10 & 12 going.

I'd love some feedback/tips from those who have been there, done that!

Thank you!

The Dolphin Show just opened a week or two ago. I am sure someone will chime in that has seen it already. Just want to let you know if you don't get a wide range of responses.

Atlanta CityPASS® | Visit 5 Atlanta attractions for just $69.00, a $141.28 value!

From your other post, the CityPass might be a good deal for you. Have used it in other cities, and i think i got my money worth from it,.

When I last saw the 4D movie I was unimpressed. I go to the aquarium to see marine life, not movies. But the kids might like it. The dolphin show is new.....I'd pay to see it.

As I recall, you can buy tickets for the 4D show on-site. I imagine its the same for the dolphin show, but given that it is still new you may be better off buying those upfront in case it fills up.

When my wife and girls came down to ATL for spring break, I took them to the Aquarium. We got the general admission tickets and nothing else. On our way out, we heard the Dolphin show was pretty good. I would probbaly add it if you are coming from out of town.

After my familymoves here, we probably will get the annual pass to the Georgia Aquarium.

After the trip to the aquarium, be sure to stop by Varisty Hot Dogs less than 1 mile away along I-75.

Have fun!

I think it is best to get the Dolphin Combo...that general admission plus admission to the dolphin show.
I did consider City Pass but since we are not visiting all 5 places it includes it works out about the same for us to just buy tickets for what we want to do.
Thanks all!

I think the Aquarium itself (and whatever exhibit) is well worth a visit for locals or visitors.

For a season pass, I would pass. I have seen several aquariums over the years, and the one in Atlanta is quite impressive, but multiple visits within a year, not for me personally.

Ok, so it costs extra to see the dolphins....excuse me....the AT&T Dolphins? And does it cost more to see Deepo:The Movie? Despite Marcus' huge gift and gaudy commercialization, the place is still pretty pricey to visit.

The aquarium is impressive in size but after seeing it once....I don't feel compelled to go back, even for the dolph...er...the AT&T Dolphins.

The same is true of the Varsity. If you haven't visited it yet, do so, but be prepared to be underwhelmed and overcharged.
