... the 1400 block of Eason Street?

How safe is it in comparison to other parts of Atlanta, what is the diversity like, etc.?

EDIT: Corrected the spelling of the street name.

easton street atlanta ga - Google Maps

zipcode 30331--If you want to use that to check the demographics.

It seems to be in the Greenbrier area---SE.

Google found this old thread, from 2006. Hopefully someone has more current fyi.

I believe that's a different area. I'm looking around the 1400 block of the Eason Street area which is 30314. All the surrounding streets read "NW" there.

P.S. Sorry for spelling "Eason" as "Easton".

Safe: Relatively UN-safe when it comes to home and car break ins. Plenty of new subdivisions mixed up with very old homes and some section 8 housing. Lots of stragglers. New homes are targeted with brake ins as the gangs who reside in the vicinity know new homeowners have goods they want: laptops, computers, flat screen TVs, IPODs and other electronics. Do not attempt to leave your vehicle parked on the drive way: it will be broken IN.

Not all subdivision projects were finished; some developers left residences with no lighting. In the city of Atlanta the developer is responsible to provide street lights.

Diversity: the meaning of diversity varies from person to person, but in this particular area; the great majority is black.

Depends on your level of comfort. I have driven down that street as my kid goes to school near that neighborhood. To me it seems pretty quiet a lot of brick ranch houses with old people in them. I have only seen black people in the neighborhood. Since it is 30314 though most people will probably tell you that it is unsafe and never to buy anything there or live there. I don't live too far from and have never had any problems with crime but according to statistics I live in one of highest crime ridden neighborhoods in the city. But I don't scare easily and am from an area and background that doesn't see large percentages of black people or non-subdivision neighborhoods as all that horrible.
