Great article ...

BusinessWeek gives Coweta top state ranking | The Citizen

Newnan is definitely an economical option in a semi-rural suburb if that is to your liking. It doesn't make much sense if your job is downtown Atlanta or on the northside of Atlanta, but it is attractive to some who work locally near Newnan, run home-based businesses, or fly out of HJIA each week. I have been told that Newnan is perfect for those who wish to live near the conveniences and opportunities of a mega city while still maintaining a lower stress pace of life - keeping the big city hustle and bustle at arms length.

Good article. Thanks for posting.

Actually, I think North Coweta, East Coweta (including Sharpsburg), and the Newnan Area are excellent places to live if one works in Downtown Atlanta.

It is the same for those that live in Peachtree City and work in Downtown--yet Coweta County offers quicker access to I-85.

1/8th of your hours awake commuting isn't a smart choice, in my humble opinion

It's a good/decent commute from North/East Coweta and Peachtree City to Downtown. Very convenient.

Plus the traffic is lighter in general for both morning and evening rush hours if commuting from Newnan and Peachtree City areas to downtown. It is way lighter than areas on the Northside.

I consider northbound connector into downtown to be one of the worst bottlenecks in the metro. It's a "red" stretch on INRIX almost every day.

Some of the folks I know who have long commutes (or spend a lot of time on the road for other reasons) use the time to listen to audio books and similar things. Making the best of the situation, I think.

It's a neat little conservative town I will agree, if that's your thing. I still don't care for the quality of education in this county and would advise against it if you have kids.

The drive isn't bad if you are an early morning person that avoids the traffic.

True, though only a small percentage of Coweta County folks commute to Atlanta. Total commuting to Fulton County is 20%, and that includes all destinations in Fulton, not just downtown.

The vast majority of Cowetans (nearly 75%) work in the county or somewhere on the south side. For those folks it's an excellent option. I wouldn't mind living there at all.
