I truly don't understand the complaints about Waffle House eats. It's not "fast food" or "factory food." Each meal is cooked individually. All the ingredients are fresh. I can't think of anything on the menu that's greasy or fried other than bacon, sausage or burgers, which are cooked on the grill for each order and served immediately. If there's any other way to cook items like that, what is it? They serve Smithfield bacon, Jimmy Dean sausage, Minute Maid OJ and all their condiments are top of the line. Their coffee is excellent and dependable.

No, the Waffle House isn't the home of complex haute cuisine, but it's fresh, solid fare. Prices are reasonable and the staff is legendary.

And for fans of Atlanta's glitzy Ritz Carlton hotels in downtown and Buckhead, you have Waffle House to thank. Their developer, W.B. Johnson made his fortune with Waffle House before turning to luxury hotels.

This.

If we have more local businesses like WH open restaurants and retail around Centennial, there'd be less ignorant posts about how nothing happens in downtown after 6 pm (not referring to anyone that posted on this forum, but people who post on ATL forums in general).

This is as well.

I never heard of Waffle House until I moved to Georgia, grew up in Texas, never saw any of those out there when I was a kid. It's no different to Denny's imho, except yeah the atmosphere is a little cozier. I wish there were Friendly's restaurants and Bob Evans here instead of just Waffle and Huddle Houses.

This will be a good place for people to go after leaving the downtown clubs

I am happy that another resturant is going to be in the area but wish it was something nicer. If it has to be a Waffle House lets hope they at least put a decent facade on the building. Maybe design it like an old fashioned building or diner and make it a destination resturant similar to the hard rock etc.

I love it....

And it doesn't seem much bigger

The new Waffle House will offer 43 seats inside as well as outdoor seats overlooking Centennial Park, Warner said. Typical Waffle Houses offer seating for 30 to 35

I am not a great fan of WH (it's OK once in a while) but I think this will be an improvement for the area.
