Would this be an insane commute? I don't mind driving up to 30-mins.

I did a search on here and found the following post, but it is from 2007:

I live in East Atlanta (Village) area and I love it and I commute to south Marietta 5 days a week. There is no way I would live up there. I love where I live.

I takes me about 30 minutes both ways.

I take I-20 to the connector and go up I-75. If I go in early, I can be there in 20 minutes.
Is this still the case? I need to be at work by 6:30am and I leave work at 4pm. What time does traffic start getting heavy on I-20 westbound?

You should be ok in the morning (going against the flow of traffic coming in to Atlanta). You migh thave to be a little creative going home and avoiding the downtown connector or at the least jumping off on Freedom Pkwy. I used to drive from Marietta to Conyers on Friday afternoons and I20 EB was a bear after 4pm. Coming back at 6pm sometimes I would skip I75 and take I20 to James Jackson Pkwy (hwy 280) which turns into S Cobb Dr when you cross the river and follow that in to Marietta. Just listen to the traffic reports on WSB750am in case u need to pick an alternate route. They are a lifesaver.
